Dear friends,

We hope this letter finds you safe and whole. We know many of you may still be without power or unable to go to work. With hotels in and around New York still housing people displaced by Hurricane Sandy, it seems frivolous to take those rooms for an event and inappropriate to pretend that business can carry on as usual at this time.

We are going to postpone until 2013 the PYM LIVE show scheduled for New York City on Nov. 14. But you can still connect with Plan Your Meetings and gain education, community and support from us on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and PlanYourMeetings.com.

We’re also working on creating a hybrid event with Christy Lamagna, president and chief strategist of Strategic Meetings & Events, and James Rota, founder of Dazzle Creative Events and Strategic Meetings and Events’ creative director, who were scheduled to speak in New York, so you can still interact with them, ask them questions and discuss industry challenges. Look for an invite next month. If you haven’t already, you might want to check out some of the columns they’ve written for PYM.
