This weekend, Southfork Ranch in Dallas, the well-known event venue made famous by the popular TV soap opera, will pay tribute to actor Larry Hagman, who played master manipular J.R. Ewing on the series, which ran from 1978 to 1991 on CBS and recently returned in a new version on TNT.

To honor Hagman, who died last Friday of cancer at age 81, Southfork Ranch is offering complimentary public tours from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. A memorial reception will follow.

The ranch is a three-time winner of the Facility of the Year Award from the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of Meeting Professionals International. It can accommodate groups of 10 to 2,000 with intimate meeting areas and grand ballrooms across more than 300 acres.
