The numbers show that IMEX America, in its fifth year, is a record-setting event.
More than 10,600 people participated. A total of 3,100 companies representing 150 countries exhibited at the massive trade show, including 80 new booths and 56 expanded booths. The IMEX hosted buyer program attracted a record 3,000 buyers from 54 countries.
There were 66,000 business appointments, with more than 57,000 of those being one-to-one appointments and booth presentations. The proportion of these appointments that had profiles attached online rose to 51 percent, enabling buyers and exhibitors to be better prepared for their meetings.
More than 40 buyers from corporations attended the annual Executive Meetings Forum, including senior executives from Merck, Cisco Systems and Wells Fargo. Together they control annual meetings budgets in excess of $3 billion, according to IMEX.
A new education initiative, the Play Room, drew 350 participants on Monday and hundreds more when it moved on to the show floor for three days. The new wellness initiative, “Be Well at IMEX,” included a meditation room and the first IMEXrun Las Vegas, a 5K in which 412 exhibitors and buyers participated.
