What does the meeting room of the future look like? During IMEX America in Las Vegas, the German Convention Bureau (GCB) unveiled as a toolkit its insights into what it calls the Future Meeting Room—part of its Future Meetings Space program.
The Future Meeting Space is a toolkit that highlights innovations and looks into how they can be incorporated into the event experience. It explores the possibilities for heightened engagement and creativity in six different meeting scenarios.
In announcing the new toolkit, the GCB explained that it helps planners consider types of locations and setups and also educates on a variety of tech components, such as adding crowd-sourced idea generation, live polling, cloud-based sharing, immersive digital projection and gamification.
“The Future Meetings Space project is designed to help planners, destinations and locations address this change and opportunity as they come to Germany to meet and do business,” said GCB Managing Director Mattias Schultze. “We hope our newest hands-on tool, the Future Meeting Room, continues to help them think in new ways, put new ideas into action and drive innovation and creativity for their clients and delegates.”
Last year, the GCB published Future Meeting Space Innovation Catalogue Highlights (free to download), another piece of its over-arching future-looking initiative. The multi-faceted overview explores incoming generational demands as well as the technology, mobility and infrastructure that will be required for successful meetings in the near future.
