The 311-room Ibis Adelaide opened with meeting space for up to 98 people
The 15-room/suite Skwachàys Lodge (pictured, at left), Canada’s first indigenous arts and culture hotel, opened in Vancouver with a boardroom (capacity: eight), an art gallery for events, a welcome/dining room, smudge room and relaxation deck, and on-site artist studios for lessons and team-building activities.
The 194-room Delta Waterloo Hotel opened in Ontario with indoor/outdoor dining and 6,500 square feet of meeting/conference space, including a 2,800-sq. ft. ballroom.
The Azure Qiantang opened in Hangzhou with 205 river-view rooms/suites, seven meeting rooms and a grand ballroom.
The 565-room Wyndham Grand Xi’an South opened near Xi’an International Conference Center and Qujiang International Conference & Exhibition Center with 58,820 square feet of meeting/event space in 14 rooms and a 14,000-sq. ft. ballroom.
The new 167-room Sonesta Hotel opened in Pereira with 13 flexible event rooms. The largest holds up to 900 guests reception-style; the smallest is a 10-person boardroom.
The Nikki Beach Resort & Spa in the beachside village of Porto Heli opened with 66 suites and residences, a restaurant, café and beach club.
The 119-room Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Hermosillo Aeropuerto opened with six meeting rooms and a capacity of 300 attendees.
A 198-room Hyatt Regency opened in Sochi with more than 16,200 square feet of event space, including a 5,700-sq. ft. pillar-free ballroom (capacity: 350), five meeting rooms, a boardroom and two breakout areas.
The new 391-room/suite Radisson Blu Hotel Moscow Sheremetyevo opened with one ballroom and 48 conference and boardrooms.
The 240-room/suite Sheraton Adana Hotel opened with a designated banquet area, a grand ballroom for up to 700 guests, a junior ballroom, a boardroom and four conference rooms.
The Masonic in San Francisco reopened after a multimillion-dollar renovation that included a flexible, multitiered space for classes and concerts. The Masonic, atop Nob Hill, includes a new concert stage, sound system, VIP room for 300 and an open floor with tiered levels.
Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara opened with 110,000 square feet of event space that includes a rooftop terrace.
The all-suite Marco (Island) Beach Ocean Resort won a 2014 Expedia Insiders Select Award. It has one ballroom with views of the Gulf of Mexico, 4,288 square feet in four meeting/banquet rooms and three breakout rooms ranging from 418 to 980 square feet. Outdoor function space includes a courtyard, pool area and garden terrace.
The 183-room La Playa Beach & Golf Resort in Naples, part of the Florida Green Lodging program, completed a million-dollar overhaul to its indoor/outdoor meeting/event space, including the 5,000-sq. ft. Vanderbilt Ballroom and the 3,045-sq. ft. Bayview Ballroom.
The 112-room Alford Park Inn in Winter Park expanded to include 10,000 square feet of event space with a ballroom that’s divisible by five. The restaurant , Hamilton’s Kitchen, has private dining for up to 25 people.
The 91-room Country Inn & Suites opened in Roseville with a meeting room for up to 24 people.
Home2 Suites by Hilton Long Island City-Manhattan View opened with 115 rooms/suites, an Oasis lobby community space, a Spin2 Cycle combined laundry and fitness area, and an 800-sq. ft. meeting room.
Sixty SoHo completed a multimillion-dollar renovation to its 97 guest rooms and public spaces. It offers event space in its restaurant, lobby bar, private rooftop terrace (capacity: 150) and in Sixty Loft, a 1,800-sq. ft. bi-level penthouse with a 250-sq. ft balcony.
The new Hilton Garden Inn Midtown Park Avenue opened with 232 guest rooms/suites and 2,122 square feet of flexible meeting space.
The Courtyard by Marriott Durham near Duke University/Downtown completed a $2 million renovation of its 146 guest rooms, lobby and exterior. The hotel has 1,250 square feet of meeting space.
The 135-room Courtyard Philadelphia Lansdale opened with more than 4,000 square feet of meeting space for up to 150 people. The outdoor event area now includes a fire pit, water feature and F&B service.
The new Hilton Dallas/Plano opened in the master-planned community of Granite Park with 299 rooms, a lobby with community seating, a media bar with 12 flat-screen televisions and a tech lounge. A pedestrian boardwalk connects to a 30,000-sq. ft. conference center with flexible meeting space, pre-function areas and two ballrooms.
The 220-room Westin Crystal City opened in Arlington with 16,000 square feet of event space, including 11 meeting rooms.
