The Gaylord Entertainment Company promoted Kemp Gallineau to senior vice president and chief sales officer for Gaylord Hotels; he was previously senior vice president and general manager of Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando. Gallineau will be succeeded at the Gaylord Palms by Johann Krieger.

The Arizona Hotel & Lodging Association named Judy Kabler, concierge manager at Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale, “Outstanding Manager of the Year for 2009.”

The San Diego North Convention & Visitors Bureau hired Larry Kaufman as vice president of sales.

Alisha Waid, CMP, joined Associated Luxury Hotels (ALHI) International as vice president of sales for the Mid-Atlantic Region; she is based in ALHI’s national sales office in Washington, D.C.

Cindy Campbell was named director of food and beverage for the AAA Four-Diamond Shores Resort & Spa in Daytona.

The Florida School Boards Association awarded the 2009 Citizen of the Year Award to Harris Rosen, president and COO of Rosen Hotels & Resorts. He received the award in recognition of a long-standing community service initiative he started to benefit inner city Orlando children and families.

The Orlando Business Journal awarded Frank Santos, CFO of Rosen Hotels & Resorts, with its first-ever “CFO Award,” in the large private company category. The award is given to CFOs for their contribution and commitment to their professions and for outstanding performance in their roles as corporate financial stewards.

Marisol Berrios became international sales manager for the leisure sales department of Tampa Bay & Company.

The Sheraton Atlanta named Doug Bowman its director of catering and convention services.

Belinda Maguire was appointed director of sales for the Las Vegas office of USA Hosts, a national destination management company.

Denise M. Coll, president of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc.’s North America Division, was inducted into the Massachusetts Lodging Association Hall of Fame for her contributions to the lodging industry over the course of her 30-year career.

Brad Duncan became sales manager of the AAA Four-Diamond Chateau on the Lake Resort, Spa & Convention Center in Branson, Mo.

Michael C. Smith, Travel Portland (Ore.)’s vice president of convention sales, became the nation’s first CVB staff member to achieve Certified Diversity Meeting Professional (CDMP) accreditation from the International Association of Hispanic Meeting Professionals.

Vanessa Kager joined the Corpus Christi Convention & Visitors Bureau as director of sales for the state of Texas.

Noemi Aguirre was appointed catering sales manager of Wolfgang Puck Catering in Dallas; she will focus on events in Reunion Tower.
