Kevin Hinton, executive vice president of Associated Luxury Hotels International, has officially accepted the chairmanship of Meeting Professionals International. The coronation came recently at the opening general session of MPI’s World Education Congress in St. Louis. He succeeds Sebastien Tondeur, CEO of MCI Group Holding.
Hinton’s tenure began July 1 and will continue until July 1, 2013. Previously he was chairman-elect of MPI, the meeting and event industry’s largest global community with 21,000 members worldwide. As chairman, Hinton leads the 18-member MPI board of directors, the governing body of MPI, which is responsible for reviewing and approving the organization’s strategic plans, overseeing financial integrity, and monitoring performance against achievement of strategy and long-term vision.
Hinton is executive vice president of the global sales organization ALHI, and is based in Chicago.
