As she points out: “This industry really starts to own you. It becomes your lifestyle. As an independent planner, I’m not competing for another planner’s job; I just help make it easier.”
Suzan Patrick, CMP, a professional planner in Denver, Colo., has worked in many realms of meeting and event planning, from corporate sales incentive meetings and the 2008 National Democratic Convention to volunteering for non-profit organizations and everything in between.
