If you weren’t able to join us in Atlanta for the March 1 PYM LIVE Event at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead, you missed a couple of incredible sessions on essential planning skills. Luckily we didn’t forget you, so we archived half of it, and the other educational session will be available as a webinar called “How to Get Hotels to Stand Up and Take Notice of Your Meeting Request” March 7 at 1 p.m. ET.
Stacey Ruth of Actio Marketing presented an “Event Marketing Boot Camp” that demystified the whole process. There were a lot of “a-ha” moments and takeaways for planners and supplier partners wanting to get better response from their marketing efforts. We posted the presentation on SlideShare.net less than a week ago, and it’s already been downloaded 25 times. With the help of Telenect and the boots-on-the-ground A/V team from PSAV, we were able to include a virtual audience. If you missed her presentation and would like to see an archive of the live broadcast (including the online chat conversation), you can watch it here.
After the trade show component, we reconvened for a second educational session. This one led by Zentila, an online search engine and RFP service designed to take the pain out of short-term booking windows. They helped planners identify some of the reasons why their RFPs aren’t getting the kind of responses they hoped and gave them insight into how hotel sales directors and managers rate their business based on what’s included on the RFP. If you missed it, you can still tune in for a very special webcast with them on Wednesday, March 7 at 1 p.m. ET. It’s free and you can register for it here.
Here’s a recap of the event, as told through the tweets, pics and posts of those in attendance. If you’d like to see more, visit our Facebook page.
And if you’re in the Dallas area, be sure to join us (or tell your friends to join us) on March 28, when we’ll have Jeff Hurt leading a discussion about “The Conference Innovator’s DNA.”
