Many people majored in drinking in college; now there’s a legitimate career path for it.
Frat brothers everywhere rejoiced at the news of Four Points by Sheraton’s search for the chain’s first-ever Chief Beer Officer (CBO). Arizona ale aficionado Scott Kerkmans beat out more than 7,500 applicants from more than 30 countries to win the coveted post, but he will be doing more than tasting the proverbial hoppy waters.
During the next four months, Kerkmans will be instrumental in creating the chain’s Best Brews program as well as acting as an ambassador for the program at hotel happy hours, beer festivals, brewery tours and bars throughout the country.
“I look forward to sharing my love for beer with the thirsty public and introducing this fun beverage to those who have yet to discover the joy that can be found in a perfectly poured cold one,” Kerkmans says. “[It’s] the job of a lifetime.”
