Wow! Here I am — my first blog. I don’t even think the word “blog” was in my vocabulary five years ago. I did grow up keeping a diary, so I know what it’s like to write about my crush on Curtis Kersten.* I also know I was the only one who read it. Well, the only one besides my eight brothers and sisters. (The little key that came with the five year diary never worked!) Will anyone be interested in my blog other than my family or close friends? I wonder if it will be the same experience … Well, I’m going to find out soon.
I connected with PYM Editorial Director Kristi Casey Sanders through the MeCo ListServe. Kristi was unable to go to the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) convention and wanted people to send back stories, so I volunteered to give the perspective of a first-time attendee.
I want to see if attending is worth my time, from a business sense. Especially since I only know a handful of people in PCMA.
I’m about to find out, my flight leaves in three hours. I’ll post again, after I get checked in this evening.
*Note to self: Check Facebook to see if I can locate Curtis Kersten.
