Hi, everyone, I was fortunate enough to go out of the country to do what? Nothing but eat. Talk about a dream assignment. But, I have to say it is a lot harder than it looks.
What I learned is that some of the dishes I tasted didn’t look appetizing, but tasted wonderful. And with other chefs, I had food that looked great, but didn’t taste great. So which do you choose? What’s a girl to do?
My choice is to go for taste. Don’t get too caught up in presentation if it isn’t going to be there taste-wise. Presentation you can work on; and I find chefs appreciate it when I challenge them on presentation. When you are working the other way around, it is harder to get chefs to admit the food doesn’t taste right.
