Below are updates on the meeting industry hires and promotions for January 2015. Take a look and reach out to your fellow colleagues to congratulate them!

David Tonkin became general manager at the Parkroyal Melbourne Airport in Australia.

Philippe Zuber became president and COO at Bahamas-based One&Only Resorts.

Terence T. Lee was promoted to general manager at the Anantara Seminyak Bali Resort.

Peter Birk became executive chef at Scrub Island Resort, Spa and Marina on Tortola, British Virgin Islands.

Andrew Rogers, multi-property vice president and general manager at the Ritz-Carlton Beijing, was named general manager of the year at the Hotelier Awards China.

Justin Reynolds became residences manager at Six Senses Residences Courchevel in France, which opened in December.

Stefan Keel became general manager at Mövenpick Resort Boracay in the Philippines.

Yvonne Sai Choo Lim became corporate director of revenue management at Regent Hotels & Resorts in Taipei, Taiwan.

Bill Duncan became global head of Hilton Hotels’ new all-suites division, based in McLean, Va., and encompassing Embassy Suites by Hilton, Homewood Suites by Hilton and Home2 Suites by Hilton. Dianna Vaughan became senior vice president and global head at DoubleTree by Hilton and Curio; John Greenleaf became global head at Hilton Garden Inn; and Adrian Kurre became global head at Homewood Suites and Home2 Suites.

Tina Fleming was promoted to general manager at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Little Rock, Ark.

Scott Mason became general manager at the Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa, scheduled to open midyear in Paradise Valley, Ariz.

Visit Phoenix promoted Maria Lourdes Delgado to tourism director and named George Herrera as tourism manager.

The Camby Hotel in Phoenix named Doug McCorkle as chief ideation officer and Darren Pound as chief experience officer.

Amelia Winfrey became spa director at the Spa Montage Beverly Hills.

Gary Sims became managing director at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.

The Hotel Irvine in California named Joreon Quent as general manager.

Julie Buettner became general manager at the Courtyard by Marriott Long Beach [Calif.] Airport.

UCLA’s Meyer & Renee Luskin Conference Center, scheduled to open in August, named Cindy Gagle its sales & marketing director.

Tricia Sterling became spa director at SpaTerre at the Kona Kai Resort & Spa in San Diego.

Frank Manchen became area sales & marketing director at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square and Parc 55 San Francisco.

Javier Egipciaco became general manager of the Tommie Hudson Square Hotel in San Francisco, scheduled to open in March. Rosa Gutierrez became sales & marketing director, and Jason Enany became F&B and entertainment director.

Marie-Helene Morowati became general manager at the V Palm Springs Hotel in South Palm Springs, Calif., scheduled to reopen this spring after renovations are complete.

Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa in Gateway, Colo., named Sonya Thayer as accounts director.

Fabio Pari-Di Monriva became operations director at the Hilton Hotel in Hartford, Conn.

The Renaissance Boca Raton Hotel in Florida named Mehmet Bahtiyar its general manager.

John DePiro became general manager at Florida’s Fort Lauderdale Marriott North.

Chris Alto joined the Westin Fort Lauderdale as general manager.

Michael Hooper became general manager at the Hilton Miami Airport.

Miami Beach’s Eden Roc Resort and Nobu Hotel named Laurence Dubey as general manager.

Miguel Santiago became executive chef at the Hilton West Palm Beach in Florida.

Donald Berg was named the first CEO of the IHG Owners Association in Atlanta.

Yvette Thomas-Henry became general manager at the Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta.

Aqua-Aston Hospitality in Honolulu named Janice Wakatsuki as senior vice president of human resources.

Marina Braica was promoted to sales & marketing director at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel in Chicago.

Riley Huddleston joined LondonHouse Chicago as executive chef and beverage director.

Angela Kuzma joined Aparium Hotel Group in Chicago as corporate F&B director.

Philippe Roux-Dessarps became a Hyatt Hotels [Chicago] vice president of global brands, overseeing the Park Hyatt brand.

Gordon Taylor III became sales & marketing director at the Conrad Hotel Chicago.

The Hilton Chicago/Oak Brook Hills Resort & Conference Center hired Erica Tomei as pastry chef.

Leeny Kelly Oberg became Marriott International’s CFO, succeeding the retiring Carl Berquist.

Brian Weber became F&B vice president and Michael Weber became hotel operations vice president at Weber’s in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Akihiro Nomura became deputy general manager at Kitano Hotel New York.

Barton Hill Hotel & Spa in Niagara Falls, N.Y., named Gerry Rosés its general manager.

Kary Takach became rooms director at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa, between Austin and Bastrop, Texas.

Gerard Forster became senior vice president and chief information officer at Aimbridge Hospitality in Dallas.

Mark Sanders, general manager of the Sheraton Dallas, was named general manager of the year in the Upscale and Midscale With F&B category at the Hotel Association of North Texas’ annual HOSPY awards.

Scot Cotton became general manager at the Marriott Marquis Houston, scheduled to open in October.

Andrea Foster joined Marcus Hotels & Resorts and MCS Capital LLC in Milwaukee as senior vice president of development.

Chris Schaefer became corporate restaurant director at Noble House Hotels & Resorts in Seattle.
