A 113-room Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites opened in Calgary, Alberta, with meeting space for up to 160 people, views of the mountains and downtown, and heated underground parking.
The 99-room Holiday Inn Express Fort St. John opened in British Columbia with 1,000 square feet of meeting space.
A newly constructed 113-room Best Western Service Inn & Suites opened in Lethbridge, Alberta, with meeting space for up to 60 people.
The 121-room/suite Courtyard by Marriott Winnipeg Airport opened in Manitoba with three function rooms totaling 1,798 square feet and able to accommodate up to 150 people.
The Express Hotel opened in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, with 103 guest rooms, four family suites, a boardroom and more than 1,100 square feet of meeting space.
The Courtyard by Marriott Boluo opened in South China with 234 guest rooms and seven meeting/banquet rooms.
The 155-room/suite Yangzhou Yangpeng Jin Jiang Hotel opened with a 1,200-sq. ft. multifunctional banquet hall and three conference rooms that each hold up to 60 people.
The Brando resort opened on the private atoll of Tetiaroa, 30 miles north of Tahiti, with 35 villas, ranging in size from 1,033 to 2,468 square feet. The resort has a library, explorer center and eco-station with sustainable technologies.
The 253-room DoubleTree by Hilton Jakarta — Diponegoro opened with more than 4,000 square feet of meeting/banquet space divided among seven rooms. The largest holds 800 for receptions.
The 151-room Hyatt Place La Paz opened in Baja California Sur with 2,691 square feet of meeting space.
The Park Inn by Radisson opened at Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg with 200 guest rooms and a direct connection from the hotel to the new Terminal 1. It has 18 flexible meeting rooms on two floors.
The 58-room DoubleTree by Hilton Zanzibar opened with event space for up to 200 people.
The 45-room Best Western Plus Peninsula Hotel opened in Dar Es Salaam with one boardroom (capacity: 20) and a conference/banquet room (capacity: 90).
The Clarion Hotel & Suites Istanbul Sisli opened with 135 guest rooms and three conference rooms that can combine into one for up to 200 people.
The Inn at Woburn, renamed the Woburn Hotel, completed renovations on its 55 guest rooms, cottages and suites. The hotel, an hour from London, has three function rooms that hold a total of 80 attendees.
The Hyatt Regency La Jolla completed a $12 million renovation that included all 417 guest rooms and suites, public areas and meeting spaces. It has 32,000 square feet of function space.
Los Angeles’ two-in-one hotel — the 174-room Courtyard and the 219-suite Residence Inn L.A. Live — opened with a combined total of 4,500 square feet for meetings, which can hold up to 350 guests.
The 105-room Best Western Plus opened in Rancho Cordova with meeting facilities for up to 40 people.
The Residence Inn Irvine John Wayne Airport/Orange County completed a $3.3 million renovation to its 174 suites. The hotel has 1,068 square feet of meeting space.
The 288-room Radisson Hotel Denver Southeast in Aurora opened with 25,000 square feet of meeting/event space and a 180-degree view of the Rocky Mountains.
DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
The former Four Points by Sheraton Washington, D.C., reopened as Twelve & K Hotel with 256 guest rooms and 9,400 square feet of meeting space, including a 6,152-sq. ft. ballroom and outdoor event space on its rooftop pool deck. Green meeting options are available.
The 130-room Aloft Tampa opened downtown with one 685-sq. ft. flexible meeting room and an outdoor terrace.
A new Fairfield Inn & Suites opened in Calhoun with 73 rooms and 700 square feet of event space for up to 65 attendees.
The 62-acre Hilton Waikoloa Village updated 175,000 square feet of meeting and convention function areas. The 1,241-room resort offers ballrooms, breakout rooms, pre-function areas, exhibit facilities, promenades, boardrooms and outdoor venues.
The 117-room Hampton Inn & Suites Camp Springs opened with a 1,500-sq. ft. meeting facility.
The Boston Marriott Peabody renovated its 257 guest rooms. The hotel, 20 minutes from Logan International Airport, has eight meeting rooms that total 10,735 square feet of event space.
Scout Hotels acquired luxury Harborview Place on Nantucket and the CapeWind Waterfront Resort in Falmouth. Harborview has 10 one- to three-bedroom residences and outdoor lawns and a beach for events. The 31-room CapeWind is set on five acres and can host outdoor events, with or without tents, for up to 150 people.

The 102-room Courtyard Bridgeport Clarksburg opened with a business library and 2,200 square feet of meeting space.
The 176-room Best Western Plus InnTowner in Madison finished a $2 million renovation of its 176 rooms and 6,200 square feet of meeting space.
