If you like to do your business, or your after-business networking, on a Georgia golf course, Golf Advisor’s pick of the pack is King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort on St. Simons Island.
King and Prince topped a list of 15 courses in Golf Advisor’s inaugural Georgia ranking. More than 4,000 customer reviews of 93 courses were considered. The ranking represents how a course met or exceeded a golfer’s expectations rather than a course’s history, design or potential, as many other such lists do.
Of King and Prince one voter wrote: “Lots of majestic oaks dripping with moss and the water holes are breathtaking. We usually see a gator or two and today was no exception. The greens are fast and fairways forgiving. We all had a great time, as usual.” The course was added to the historic resort, on the site of a former antebellum plantation, in 1989.
If your plans require you to meet inside or sans golf shoes, the 197-key resort has more than 8,150 square feet of meeting space divided among five rooms, plus an oceanfront event lawn, 48 two- and three-bedroom villas and eight private homes that can host events.
