Here’s one more reason to buy an iPad: Certain Meetings 6.0 launched today.
In addition to its full suite of strategic meetings management solutions, Certain Meetings 6.0 also offers mobile, social networking and e-mail marketing campaign features that can be managed from the meeting planner’s smartphone, laptop or tablet.
“Today, [attendees] are showing up with net-connected devices and each one of those attendees is in a position to interact with the speaker and each other; we can accelerate that by providing a very rich app that runs on mobile devices,” says Certain Software Chief Executive Officer Peter Micciche.
The Certain Mobile application allows planners to send real-time information that attendees can access on any device with a Web browser, including iPads, iPhones, and Android and Blackberry smartphones. In addition to offering attendees a personalized agenda, Certain Mobile gives them access to special news bulletins and real-time event information. There’s also a window devoted to Twitter feeds about the event. (At any time the planner may update which hashtags are on display.) Through the application, planners can alert attendees to changes of schedule, speakers and room assignments; send surveys or live polls; and broadcast special messages or offers from sponsors or exhibitors — all through one online dashboard.
The immediacy of the technology also allows for real-time reporting, a feature that adds a lot of value for C-level executives. “Before, we could only understand success through surveying, but today, we can provide interactive information to let people understand what’s transpiring,” Micciche says. “Anyone who needs to know how the message is being absorbed, can examine the information base [in order to] let all the key executives understand how to run more effective meetings. … [Stakeholders] can understand where [their] spend is going and the impact of the spend with [the] audience.”
Because the mobile application is integrated into the Certain Meetings 6.0 platform, planners can use information captured during the registration process to create targeted e-mail marketing campaigns or mobile messages from sponsors, the metrics of which can be tracked immediately. Additional digital marketing capabilities include CAN-SPAM-compliant e-mail distribution; social networking links that allow attendees to share event information on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn; and Google Analytics tracking so meeting marketers can analyze traffic to and usage of Certain-powered event websites. Another benefit of integration is that if a planner needs to make a change to the schedule, adjust rooming lists, send out a last-minute e-mail or allow a VIP to be added to a session, they don’t need to remember two or three passwords to do so; they can control all the mobile, marketing and planning functions from one dashboard, using their iPad or laptop.
