The College Football Hall of Fame, which opened last week in downtown Atlanta, has 50,000 square feet of event space, including a 45-yard indoor playing field that can hold 900 people seated and up to 1,450 people standing. It connects to the Georgia World Congress Center, allowing meeting attendees to move from the expo floor to evening events at the GWCC.
The 94,000-sq. ft. facility, which relocated from South Bend, Ind., features historic and contemporary artifacts, interactive multimedia displays, children’s activities, and an ultra-high-definition theater. Visitors can register their “All-Access Pass” with their favorite college football team, and then receive personalized content at the hall’s interactive exhibits.
According to the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Hall is part of more than $1.5 billion in new hospitality development opening in Atlanta this year and the latest addition to the neighborhood that includes Centennial Olympic Park, the World of Coca-Cola, the Georgia Aquarium, the Inside CNN Studio Tour, the Center for Civil and Human Rights, Philips Arena, the Georgia Dome, SkyView Atlanta and Imagine It! The Children’s Museum of Atlanta.
