In a bid to increase awareness of and participation in the first-ever IMEX America trade show, the German-based IMEX Group, which annually hosts a worldwide exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events in Frankfurt, will co-locate the event with one of PCMA‘s educational conferences.
PCMA’s involvement means that IMEX America will be able to offer approximately 40 educational seminars and workshops free of charge to attendees of the three-day event, which will be held Oct. 11-13, 2011 in Las Vegas.
“PCMA has been participating in IMEX in Frankfurt for several years now by providing our signature educational offerings,” stated PCMA President and CEO Deborah Sexton. “That will continue. But with its brand new show, IMEX America, the group is blazing a fresh trail, and PCMA is pleased to be helping to pave the way by offering high-level education at this event. … We are focused on making sure that all [PCMA] members understand that IMEX is different and that the IMEX model, and especially its hosted buyer program, makes it unlike any other trade show they are likely to have seen before.”
Chairman of the IMEX Group Ray Bloom added, “An educational program of this size and quality adds enormous value to IMEX America. That, plus our reputation for facilitating fast and easy communication between buyers and exhibitors before, during and after the show … ensures that every IMEX adds up to so much more than [a] trade show.”
In addition to providing the on-site education, PCMA will host 150 buyers from the association and corporate markets, and give IMEX access to its more than 6,000 members worldwide. Both IMEX and PCMA hope offering a unique trade show model, combined with educational offerings, will generate high-quality hosted buyer groups and attract new U.S. trade show attendees.
