Partipants at IMEX America next month can sign up to exercise their bodies as well as their minds with the first IMEXrun Las Vegas. The 5K run, organized by sports by tlc, begins at 6:30 a.m. Oct. 14.
IMEXrun Las Vegas is an element of this year’s new “Be Well at IMEX” program. It includes wellness education sessions at the Inspiration Hub on the trade-show floor, a new meditation room and an online wellness guide.
The run, designed to combine fun, fitness and Vegas panache, begins and ends at the Venetian outdoor bridge and gondolas, and passes partly along the Strip. A water and fresh fruit reception will greet runners at the finish line so they can refuel before starting their days at the show.
IMEXrun Las Vegas is open to all and builds on the successful riverside IMEXrun Frankfurt last spring, which attracted nearly 250 runners.
“As meetings professionals we are often on the road, so wellness is an important topic,” says Carina Bauer, CEO of IMEX. “We think the IMEXrun Las Vegas captures the dynamic, caring, strong and community-driven spirit of our industry, and will provide a fun and energizing way for people to kick off their second morning at the show.”
IMEX America, running Oct. 13-15, is based at the newly renovated Sands Expo, which has 2.25 million square feet of combined space. Meeting Professionals International sponsors Smart Monday, a free, pre-show educational day on Oct. 12.
