AmpliVox Sound Systems is making and selling portable PA systems and podiums that are RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substance) and WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) compliant. AmpliVox, the 40 year-old audio system specialist in Chicago, meets these requirements in nearly all of the wood products it manufactures. To help stretch forest resources, it uses particle board and recycled post-industrial wood residues. Green Cross International, an environmental group, has certified AmpliVox’s raw particle-board panels as 100 percent recycled and recovered wood fibers.
