The meetings and events business in the town of Estes Park, Colo., gets a big boost May 8 when the Estes Park Events Complex celebrates a grand opening and impressive growth.
The Events Complex comprises four flexible spaces: the new Event Center adjacent to the indoor/outdoor Pavilion, a 42-acre Fairgrounds and a full-service Conference Center. This creates a combined square footage of 52,184 and a capacity for 3,700 people — more than half of Estes Park’s population of 6,086. The town, home to the Rocky Mountain National Park, is in north-central Colorado, 65 miles northwest of Denver. The space breaks down like this:
- The Event Center has a flexible 33,000-sq. ft. indoor space; a 25,574-sq. ft. event hall (capacity: 1,787); a two-story grand lobby; two meeting rooms (capacity: 35-46); and an executive boardroom (capacity: 37).
- The Conference Center has 20,000 square feet of combined space, including a grand lobby (with a fireplace); a grand ballroom divisible by six (capacity: 1,000); a junior ballroom; 12 meeting rooms; and an outdoor banquet area.
- The indoor/outdoor Pavilion has a total of 19,184 square feet (capacity: 1,344) and a covered outdoor patio.
- The Fairgrounds has 42 acres of open space, an 18,230-sq. ft. exhibition space, the 15,836-sq. ft. Barn W, five arenas, the Grandstands (an outdoor arena that seats 2,700 people) and, if you need them, 572 horse stalls.
The May 8 grand opening runs 6 to 9 p.m., promising activities for kids and adults, entertainment, complimentary appetizers and a cash bar. If you’re in the area, check it out. But wear your best mountain attire.
