Dear travel manager, have you thought about what the economic outlook for your small or medium-size business will be a year from now? Eighteen months?
Well, according to America Airlines’ second annual survey, 71 percent of SMB travel managers project an increase in their companies’ economic outlook by December 2013. And with more money, comes more travel. Ninety-three percent of travel managers rated face-to-face meetings as critical to the success of their business. Another 86 percent expect their companies’ travel to remain or increase up to 24 percent within a year.
So where are these managers going? Sixty-five percent travel most frequently within the United States, 14 percent internationally and 21 percent split their time between domestic and international travel.
The Top 10 domestic cities they visit are New York, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Washington, D.C., Las Vegas, Atlanta and Boston.
The results include the responses of more than 1,100 American Airlines Business ExtrAA SMB travel managers.
