A few months ago, meeting professionals began hearing about Zentila, a hospitality technology company and online booking tool that promised to take the pain out of last-minute event planning. Now Zentila has tweaked its system by adding what it calls the “great reveal.”
Zentila, a Plan Your Meetings partner, is designed to help planners tasked with booking a meeting in 90 days or less. It guarantees that hotels will respond with bids within three hours of an RFP submission (evenings, weekends and holidays excepted). Planners are then required to select a winning bid within 48 hours, or the offers expire.
“Previously, when meeting planners booked with Zentila, they selected specific hotels they were interested in,” Zentila founder/ZEO Mike Mason, said in a statement. “When the bids came back from the hotels, everything but the name of the hotel was revealed. We did this in an effort to ensure only serious buyers were submitting RFPs and to eliminate window shopping.”
Now a “reveal” button has been added. The planner-specified hotels still respond with an offer and their names are still secret — until the planner agrees to a few simple terms. One, that they’re real meeting planners, and two, that they intend to choose a bid within 48 hours. If they agree, the hotel names are revealed. Planners choose the best offer, and the winning hotel contacts the planner that same day.
“We have created a system that keeps the integrity of a Zentila meeting RFP – one that hotels will jump and respond to – while giving planners more control over their purchase,” Mason says.
He created Zentila after years in the hospitality industry and watching the meeting-booking process become unnecessarily complicated. Zentila is designed to save time and money for both planners and hotels.
